Flanges
The flange mechanically connects two pipes together by welding, brazing, or by screwed fittings. Flanges are used to connect pipes and other equipment. Pressure vessels require flanged joints to allow their dismantling, inspection, and cleaning. Bolted joints are also utilized to alleviate stress at sections where sudden temperature changes can occur.
Threaded Flanges
Thread flanges can be attached to the pipe without welding, which makes them in huge demand. Threaded flanges are joined to pipes by screwing the pipe onto the flange.
Blind Flanges
Blind Flanges do not have a center hole and are used as a plate to seal a pipeline and block the flow of the fluid. They allow easy access to the pipeline as they can easily be unbolted should the pipes need to be checked or maintenance is required.
Weld Neck Flanges
Weld neck flanges are often used for high-pressure applications. They are found to be the most common type of high-pressure pipe flange and are the best welding flange available. They are perfect in environments where there may be a substantial amount of bending and handling of the flanges.
Slip-On Flanges
Slip-on flanges are perfect for lower pressure applications. The flange is welded both on the outside and inside to provide sufficient strength, they are also used to prevent leakages.
